1: Please explain how you combine sustainability and fashion credibility?

SansPeng was born for sustainable fashion from the very beginning of the brand. We do this by recycling reliable quality stock fabrics, currently mostly from the LVMH group; designing and revamping vintage clothes, currently mostly from London and surrounding cities; and working with sustainable fabric and innovation companies with environmentally certified standards.

SansPeng has partnered with many excellent suppliers since its inception, including excellent traceable deadstock fabrics, used clothing going to the incinerator, vintage clothing, dyes-free recycled wool, 30% sugar cane fiber recycled faux suede fabrics, natural dyed cotton, old hotel linens, vintage tent, online marketplace recycled second-hand slippers transformed into high heels, etc. Secondly, factories with sustainability concepts are also the cornerstone of our cooperation. We are pleased to be able to find ready-to-wear production factories that practice their own sustainable environmental practices for small-lot customization, and we also work with water-saving factories for eco-friendly washing and eco-dyeing of denim. In addition our brand insists on plastic-free packaging and shipping methods, and of course worker well-being is a key consideration for us.

As a new brand, the power of the individual is very weak, so we are actively working with various platforms that focus on sustainable fashion to build the power of the community. For example, the presentation with London Hoxton gallery in November, 2021, through the way of “Scan and Trace” of the works on site, triggered consumers’ interaction and concern about the source of the products, while the installation on site used picture frames made of old fabrics, which we collaborated with artists to use and then reused by them to paint their works. The props were basically rented to avoid waste. And the open day exhibition with London’s VO curation was held to increase the audience’s interest in fashion, especially the discussion of sustainability, through interaction and communication with the designers on site. For the CanU exhibition on sustainable artists in Shanghai, we created an installation of used clothes and asked the question “Can Trash be Treasure”, which was presented on the dining table, inviting consumers to participate in the whole thinking about fashion waste.

During the creation of the collection campaign, we also expressed our commitment to the principle of no-waste for the models, makeup artists, photographers and other participants, and the materials generated will be reused after the creation. We even chose vegetarian burger restaurants with eco-friendly packaging for lunch.

SansPeng studio also has details of environmental protection concept, including not providing disposable plastic cups, but using glass cups instead; plastic bags and packaging recycled by courier, which we will reuse; decorative screens transformed by leftover leather, etc.

For the development of SansPeng, we always maintain the creative level of high quality design and impact more people through sustainable ways. Regarding the transparency of our products, we currently have an individual code for each “Upcy CUSTOM” product, and we will establish a QR code function, so that consumers can scan it to track the product information and see the changes from before to after the transformation, so that they know the source of the product they are buying and understand the fashion production process, and through this In this way, we can establish education and dissemination of sustainable fashion.

We avoid the wastefulness and limitations of traditional production before purchase, and consumers can choose the custom size for each unique style, so we establish a customized transformation program from old clothes to new clothes to meet This is why we want to complete the buying experience by incorporating virtual modeling, as customization is basically the most environmentally friendly way to produce fashion.
